Nick has included programs that can be done specifically for home workouts as well as gym workouts. If you have access to some equipment at home then you will be able to do more exercises. If you workout at the gym then you should be able to do all the exercises providing your gym has all the equipment he is using. You can still get great results from working out at home though.
How Long is a Typical Gluteus to the Maximus Workout?

Nick does recommend some supplements if you want to use them. In my experience I have not needed supplements to see results. If you want to make your wallet lighter then go ahead and get all the supplements you want but I don’t recommend it. As long as you are eating properly and fueling your body you can get great results without supplements.

The one problem most people will have with gluteus to the maximus is that it is a program strictly for your butt. This isn’t really a negative that people find out after buying the book because you can tell by the name and sales page that this is strictly a butt building program.
